This project details my experience working with a team of developers on designing app that allows landlords to easily manage their properties/expenses and gives flexibility to tenants to request repairs and provide valuable information to the landlord.
We prioritized creating an intuitive and cohesive interface that would simplify the management of properties and improve user convenience. This project was made in a week and a half.
The initial phase involved understanding user needs and their interactions with the landlords (& vice versa). From our own experiences we gathered common challenges that made the user experience for both parties difficult.
A unique aspect of this project was designing a unified dashboard that worked with both tenants and landlords. This feature provided users with the ability to manage all their properties, expenses, and data ensuring a seamless and integrated user experience.
Having useful features was a top priority, so I incorporated a profit and loss page into the design. First we have the total income and total revenue, these are calculated for the current month the Occupancy Rate which is a metric that displays the percentage of occupied vs unoccupied properties. For the Maintenance Costs there is the total maintenance costs for the current month. I also added an Average rent graph which calculates the average rent for each of the last 4 units.
The property management app resulted in a simple and effective platform that provides all the features needed in a property management app and more!
